On May 25th The LA County Arts Ed Collective will host elected officials, education and workforce development leadership and selected students to a 3-hour experience entitled ” Collapsing The Barriers To Silicon Beach “. The experience will also showcase uses by students of Immersive Media for Good, Health, and Innovative Entertainment.
We’re inviting prospective partners such as ODMEO to drive STEM education in Los Angeles County from K-14 to HBCU’s, Charles Drew University and Military research USC ICT to connect the links between education-technology, workforce development in health, science, immersive-tech. Partners such as Michael McNair, Unicorn AR uses Immersive Media to bridge STEM pedagogy for all sectors of education to career pathways in winning challenges and cases such as the MIT Creating Reality Hack 2017 . Organization such as A2Mend are pipeline partners to provide transfer assistance from California Community Colleges to HBCU’s and internships for students of color to research and deploy future skills at the USC ICT Internship Program 2019 .
The formation of our consortium will be driven by Los Angeles Arts Education Collective, (LACAEC) and AT&T who we have been in conversation with for the past three years. LACAEC interest in standardization and increased awareness for developing a smart-pipeline and activation and engagement strategy for all of the 84 school districts, 19 Community Colleges, and 10 four-year Universities in Los Angeles County. This partnership will allow us to create a scaleable think-tank leadership platform that can distill the best practices of integration and adoption while allowing student innovation to be seen and nurtured along the way.

To conclude the event we’ll present the winners of a case to challenge students to develop solution for workforce, education, and training categories.
