WESTWOOD-Oct 21.
Dakar Foundation was proud to be included as sponsor and producer of a panel at the inaugural UCLA Global Sports Business forum, Friday October 21 inside of Pauley Pavilion. Our panel was physical and virtual room of discussion about the “Power Of A Coalition Of The Willing”. Jay Tucker invited Dakar over 7 months ago to participate, and boy did we take advantage.
Tremendous day yesterday at @uclaanderson for the first annual @UCLA Global Sports Forum. Our founder, Debbie Spander, shared the importance of Collegiate NIL and recognizing athletes in college as “College Athletes” not “Student Athletes.” @DebSpander @BaronDavis @ajmoyal 🎤 pic.twitter.com/vaexUfRQZw

We challenged everyone in the room to create an overdrive discussion that we hope will culminate into a perpetual think-tank and media platform for the Digital Pipeline Initiative, created by Jay over 8 years ago when he created the “Silicon Beach Movement”. Stay tuned for our next offering and our cutdown of the panel and the entire forum.
Thanks Sheri for hosting our panel featuring Mitch “The Rock Richmond, and La Mer “The Genious Walker”. I’m forever grateful for stepping in for Jay and I. #dakarfoundation pic.twitter.com/VnW3ygrZx9

“UCLA and Los Angeles sit at the heart of the global sports ecosystem. Jay produced this experience to give professionals a sneak peek into emerging business opportunities in sports, and creating a forum that connects members of this very special community. The event explored innovation and consumer trends that will shape the industry in the coming years, including global fandom, sports betting, brand and entertainment partnerships, NIL (name, image and likeness), and emerging technologies like NFTs and the metaverse.
We are talking about the NBA players, social impact & activism with the @TheNBPA’s Keisha Wright & Christina Norman of THINK450, the Prisoner Wine CO’s Bukola Ekundayo & our own @BaronDavis at the #UCLAGSBF. pic.twitter.com/sQ4qhfH4Iq
