Player Development

Panther Player Development, for children age 6-15, is designed to prepare youth athletes for high school football. At the same time it is our goal to never deny any child the opportunity to learn the game of football. Based on conversations, clinics, and camps with high school and college coaches, we work hard to do what 90% of them advise,“Teach the Fundamentals” because “that’s what we look for in new players to our program!!”

Our mission is to teach every participant multiple positions through a step-by-step progression of skills and drills that are packaged in a fun and entertaining way. The particular assigned position or positions are taught in an upbeat tempo that holds a child’s interest throughout the practice. Operated in conjunction with our Panther Youth Football season giving campers 10-10 weeks of hands on football training. Competitive practice time will focus on execution of skills learned, not necessarily the end result of a play.

In addition, through a youth coach’s development program that provides hours of practical training, coaches / Dads with Pads learn how to properly teach all position fundamentals as well as how to creatively and effectively apply life skill messages.

We will use multiple practices locations (if needed). This allows for small group instruction giving coaches time to give individual attention and monitor progress it also gives our athletes maximum participation each day, not to mention less travel time allowing our athletes more time to eat, get needed rest and most importantly do HOME WORK.

  • The last six of my many years of coaching, I have dedicated myself and the people around me to building systems for teaching young athletes sports fundamentals and still staying competitive. Founding my team in 2009, I now have the opportunity to demonstrate and mentor other coaches and parents to my concept of youth football.
