WR Routes in a West Coast Offense

Coach the above videos are to give you more information on working with passing routes and teaching your group to run proper routes. As you work on the routes pay close attention to the talked about shows to the DB’s as good defensive coaches will be teaching his DB’s to read and react to them.

Panther Multi-Formation Passing Game

As shown below our basic 1,3,5 and 7 Step passing game uses the same patterns allowing for more repetition daily done in the position stations after working thru the regular EDDs; Alignments and Assignments (Rout Running and Formation Adjustments) at the Red White Blue Station (X-Y-Z & S); 1,3,5 and 7 Step Pass Blocking at the O-Line Station; Alignments and Assignments (Rout Running, Pass Protection and Formation Adjustments) at the Black & Green Station (FB-HB & P); 3 Step Pass Footwork, 5 Step Pass Footwork and Ball Control at the QB Station.

This will allow the Offensive Coordinator to brings his groups together station by station, on his passing day or segment of practice, the chance to work on the timing with the QB, O-Line, Red White Blue and Black & Green as he builds up to the full offense. Now as we get to our Offense–Defense  11 on 11 day or 7 on 7 segment of practice, the Coordinators and/or Head Coach is working on fine-tuning the timing, coverage recognition and QB Hot Reads against our defense, as scout team or running our base defense. As you can see everything always point back to what we are doing or not doing in our stations, our Station Coaches will make the biggest impact on what we do on game day.
